Getting Started – The Essential Running Kit

All you really need to get started is running gear which can be any sports gear that’s comfortable. Nothing that will fall down or bounce around. Layers are a good idea especially at the moment. It looks sunny and it can get warm once you’ve started running but it’s still pretty cold out.

What I love about running is that I feel like I’m going back to basics so don’t over complicate things and keep it simple.

I recommend the following items:

1. Trainers 👟

2. Running gear – leggings, a high impact sports bra for ladies, t shirt or other sport tops. I like thin long sleeved t shirts. Socks are always good too 😉

3. Layers – another t-shirt or a light jacket 👚👚

4. Headphones that are comfortable to run with – Bluetooth are ideal but I manage to wriggle my Apple iPhone ones with a lead and find them ok 🎧

5. A pocket for your keys (and your hand sanitiser) and ID to be safe 🔑🔑

6. Gloves, hat and cowl (yes it is cold enough and good to cover your mouth and hands) 🧢🧤🧣
